Tron jacket

So as a lot of my friends know ... i really like the movie tron and am pretty excited for the new movie coming out. As a final project in my current costuming class we have to make something ( now this is an intro class so they don't expect anything super amazing) so what better to make than a tron jacket because this not only nets me an A+ in the class but gives me a badass jacket to play with and EL wire exp!

I toyed around with some sketches today but nothing is set in stone yet as i need to do a bit more research on the design and material i want to make the jacket from. Will be posting progress pics as i get this project underway!

Been a while!

So it has been a while since i last updated this blog so here goes!

Theatre is amazing! I have met so many people that share the same interests as me and i have come to grasps with the fact that i don't know half of what i thought i knew! However through meeting these people i am finding a ton of new ways to do things better, faster, stronger, harder, and im working on the weekend (daft punk ref for those that didn't get it)

So in looking back on my previous posts i know i was working on my war cosplay but tbh i have decided to hang that up for a bit till i can do it justice ( and at the moment i don't think i can) however i have picked back up rockstar renji and am actually working on getting a working electrical guitar going for my weapon (wish me luck) and i have a decent design imo for the costume but we will see im hoping to ... no im GOING to debut it at ohayocon 2011

anyways im out i will hopfully keep this updated though thats not the first time i have said that >.>

Sitting in materials and processes lecture atm ... kinda boring but drag is a pretty cool guy and has some good stories.

So i started cutting away the expanding foam for my shoulders this morning. Not really sure how i feel about them i think i might have to go about it in a different approach. I do need to start cutting things out of posterboard first to get my patterns down instead of just trying to eyeball it =/

My sword ... well it's kinda coming along? Started out with a huge cup in the wood so we sat it in a super dry room for about a week then we ran it through a planar a few times so it seems to be flat and good to glue up ... However i have to wait till prob friday to get it glued up due to the fact that my friend dave who is letting me borrow his router bits dosen't have a 7/8ths bit so he is picking one up today. So hopfully by this weekend / monday i will have the sword pattern cut out and gtg for the carving (im super excited about that part)

In other news i almost have my 4th 80 ( yay >.> ) yeah it's kind of impacting my costume work and i really need to stop or atleast set aside atleast an hour a day to work on costume stuff

Black and white party!

So this weekend was the triplets and oppeys bday party at our place! Theme was black and white and aside from some technical issues with the bathroom sink >.> and people touching my computer and screwing up the music i would say it was a bangin success! We had i would say about 40+ people at the party during the peak and alot of people that only stayed for a bit but once again Club J was kickin and we had plenty of people dancin so i was pretty happy about that!

So onto cosplay and prop making! I have been reading alot on different matterial uses and im really looking forward to getting to work on my shoulders for my war cosplay ^_^ Im headed out in the morning bright and early to pick up the wood for my sword so im pretty exicted about that.

Well off to bed i got swords to dream about!

Holy crap another update

So i went out yesterday with jonas and got some foam working supplies because i decided that it was time for me to put up or shut up. Either i will make a good foam prop or well ... failure is not an option. So what did i decide to do for my first foam prop? well frostmourne of course! (what warcraft fanboi dosen't want one of these badboys on his or her wall!) So i went and did a search for a good picture and low and behold i found a pattern! however it was a papercraft pattern and didn't translate well after it was cut out =( so long story short i killed an assload of trees yesterday and used up a bunch of jonas's ink.

Update on my war cosplay!~

So i think we figured the sizing issue so soon as i can get jonas to print this massive pattern out one more time i think i can head out and get the wood to start work on this immense project! Im pretty much like a kid on christmas when it comes to this sword. For those of you who know me ... well you know that i get super excited over making huuuuuge projects and well it dosen't come much bigger or intricate than chaoseater! I am looking forward to adding woodcarving to my list of skills and got some small detail wood carving tools last night.

Well off to study for my exam im not ready for ;_;

Guess i didn't keep my word and keep this updated =(

So i haven't been keeping this updated like i said i would and i feel kind of bad about that because it's not that i don't have much to talk about it's just i always forget to put things here =P

So ohayocon is over, i didn't finish my guts cosplay but i did have a good time showing off my sword. TBH the amount of people impressed by my sword and the triplets swords made it okay that i didn't finish the rest of mine. I felt bad because the claws i made for nora fell apart throughout the con but i think V2.0 will be much better.

Now that everything is over and things are settling down it's time to get working on my next project and tbh this one is going to blow away anything i have ever attempted.





This is going to be rough but once it's done and done well i think i will blow away alot of people it will be fun especially the sword omg am i excited to make it! don't worry though i will put up alot of progress pics ... I promise this time!
